Volunteer Opportunities
The volunteer program at North Okaloosa Medical Center has a variety of opportunities for people interested in volunteering in a hospital environment. Teenage volunteers serve during the summer. Adult volunteers range in ages and commit to at least six months of service.
By volunteering, you will be a part of the success of the hospital, and you will also be making a huge difference in the life of another person. You will meet new people, learn more about healthcare and experience the warm feeling of knowing you are helping others. Being a volunteer at North Okaloosa Medical Center can expand your knowledge of hospital practices and give you a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Volunteers at North Okaloosa Medical Center often serve in the following capacities:
- Assist visitors and families with patient information
- Assist patients and visitors with directions
- Round on patients
- Assist staff and patients on inpatient units and in specialty care areas
- Write thank you notes
- Manage the Care Card program
- Assist with patient mail
- Minister to patients and families during their time of need
- Assist with clerical duties including filing and other administrative tasks
- Serve on the volunteer auxiliary board
- Manage volunteer fundraising events
