North Okaloosa Medical Center Honors Physicians on National Doctors' Day with Donation to Local Organization

CRESTVIEW, FL - March 30 is National Doctors’ Day, a day dedicated to the men and women who chose to make the extraordinary commitment to become physicians. Doctors’ Day originated in 1933 when Charles B. Almond, M.D., initiated the recognition in Winder, Georgia. In 1990, President George H. W. Bush officially recognized March 30th as National Doctors’ Day.

At North Okaloosa Medical Center, we appreciate the medical staff members every day who undertake the ultimate responsibility for each patient’s care, whether that is provided in the emergency department, operating room, cath lab or clinic. We celebrate and honor their commitment to their field, their patients and their community.

In recognition of their professional achievements, personal sacrifices and their commitments to North Okaloosa Medical Centers patients, we are celebrating together on March 28th to show our gratitude. In honor of the medical staff, NOMC is making a donation to the Crestview Area Shelter for the Homeless in the amount of $6,000.

The Crestview Area Shelter for the Homeless provides services for the homeless, including food, clothing, showers and laundry services. As well as assists with transportation to doctor’s appointments, getting an ID, applying for Social Security and food stamps.
