North Okaloosa Medical Center Adds MRI Designed To Improve Confidence, Speed, and Comfort

North Okaloosa Medical Center is now offering an improved magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) experience that focuses on patient comfort and delivers higher quality images quickly.

“We are excited to offer the latest in MRI imaging technology to better serve the needs of the community,” says Mike Nordness, CEO of North Okaloosa Medical Center.

Overall procedure time is reduced for patients with touchless, guided patient positioning, and a wider opening and immersive audio-visual experience help patients remain calm. Patients personalize their experience by selecting a theme with a colorful video image combined with soothing audio. Clear patient instructions are provided by an automated voice, which coaches patients through their examination. Scanner noise is also reduced with the new MRI.

The MRI experience can be challenging for patients. Lower image quality due to patient motion can be an issue, making it difficult for clinicians to obtain accurate results in the first scan. The goal is to make patients more comfortable, reducing procedure time and delivering quicker results.
